BHU Hosts International Conference on Ayurveda and Modern Medicine Integration
Leading medical researchers, practitioners, and scholars from across the globe have gathered at Banaras Hindu University to discuss bridging ancient healing traditions with modern clinical trials.
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) became the epicenter of global medical discourse today as it inaugurated a three-day international summit focused on the scientific validation and clinical integration of Ayurveda. Organized by the Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS-BHU), the conference brings together over 500 delegates, including pharmacologists, botanists, and traditional healers from more than 20 countries.
The keynote addresses emphasized the urgent need for robust, double-blind clinical trials on indigenous herbal formulations developed in India. Researchers presented ground-breaking data on the efficacy of Ayurvedic compounds in managing lifestyle disorders, chronic inflammation, and neurodegenerative conditions. The AYUSH ministry representatives attending the event highlighted Uttar Pradesh's growing role as a national leader in AYUSH research and infrastructure development.
Vice-Chancellor of BHU underscored the university's historical commitment to bridging ancient wisdom with empirical science. 'Kashi has been the cradle of knowledge for millennia; it is only fitting that BHU leads the crusade to give Ayurveda its rightful place on the global scientific pedestal,' she remarked during the inaugural session. Special technical workshops on medicinal plant conservation and AI-driven drug discovery in traditional medicine are scheduled for the coming days.
